Last week Vembu company launched a new version of there primary product Vembu BDR Suite 3.9.1. New Vembu BDR Suite 3.9.1 includes a new Standard Edition version

One of the most significant changes in this new Vembu BDR Suite 3.9.1 version is that now Vembu BDR is reachable for different user functionalities and segmented by Editions.

Standard Edition:

Standard edition is for small and medium business users comprising of all basic functional options available.

This version is suitable for most of the companies (particularly with small environments) since they do not need to Backup to Tape or have Virtual Machines Replication. Just need a simple Backup of their environment.

So instead of buying a version with some features that they will never use, customers can now acquire a Standard Edition with the essential Backup functions and fully operational for their physical or virtual environments.

Vembu BDR Standard Edition pricing:

The Standard Edition for VMware Backup is priced at USD 216/CPU-socket/annum. If your requirement comes under 6 CPU sockets, you get an additional discount of 50% that could lead to USD 108/CPU-socket/annum!

The Standard Edition for Hyper-V Backup also has surprises. Priced at a reasonable USD 144/CPU-socket/annum, it gets down to USD 72/CPU-socket/annum if you fall under the discount mentioned above category.

Standard Edition has all main Backup features that make Vembu BDR one of the best Backup Products in the market.

In the Enterprise Edition version Vembu, add many features that as useful for any customers that need more options to Backup their systems (Physical or Virtual).

Features like Backup to Tape or to use the Backup rule 3-2-1 and Backup retention Grandfather, Father, Son (GFS) rule, are significant for a good disaster recovery plan and the availability of your Backup infrastructure in case of full disaster.

Free Edition:

Free edition provides users the option to utilize unlimited features up to 3 VMs and then users can unlimited backup hosts with limited features.

How to upgrade to the new version?

Upgrading to new Vembu BDR Suite 3.9.1 version is very straightforward.

1 – Download the latest release from HERE.

2 – Run your Vembu BDR Suite setup file.

3 – Click Next to start the upgrade.

4 – Since we are upgrading Vembu BDR Suite, Select the option Upgrade Now.

5 – Select Install and the upgrade process will start.

6 – Next upgrade will start to extract files and install.

7 – Click Finish to end the upgrade.

8 – Since Vembu BFR Suite 3.9.1 have upgraded some drivers on your Windows Guest, a reboot is required (not mandatory).

After the rebooting, your Vembu Server your Vembu BDR Suite is fully upgraded to version 3.9.1

Click bottom right Icon to show your Vembu version.

You can also check your version and upgrades done in your Vembu Server.

Click menu option tab Management Settings Setup UpdateList Added Binary(s)
