Reconnecting and Reflecting: Veeam Vanguard Summit in Berlin 2024

The Annual Veeam Vanguard Gathering. This year in Berlin!

This year, the much-anticipated Veeam100 Summit is in Berlin, bringing together the community of Veeam Vanguards, Veeam Legends, Veeam MVPs, and, of course, the amazing team behind Veeam. As someone who has proudly been part of this program for six years, I believe that attending this summit is more than just an event; it’s like a family reunion. After a year filled with its ups and downs, it feels great to reconnect, brainstorm, and focus on what’s next for Veeam.

I’m writing this while traveling to Berlin by train, a fantastic way to combine work and travel. The steady pace makes it easy to get into a focused flow, and I couldn’t ask for a better way to start the journey to this year’s Veeam100 Summit.

Looking Back: My Journey as a Veeam Vanguard and Content Creator

Reflecting on this past year, excitement and challenges have been mixed. While I’ve always been a regular content creator focused on Veeam and VMware, this year was different. My homelab being down for several months was one setback, limiting my ability to test products and write about new versions and features. However, that wasn’t the only reason I couldn’t be as active; personal issues and health challenges also played a part. Plus, I took a big step in launching my own sports company, which has been an incredible journey but one that’s taken up a lot of my free time.

This pause, although frustrating, reminded me how crucial my homelab is for hands-on experimentation and how much I value the chance to share what I learn with others. Despite the downtime, my passion for Veeam and this community has remained strong, and I’m excited to re-engage fully.

The Veeam100 Program: What It Stands For

For those unfamiliar, the Veeam100 program (formerly the Veeam Vanguard program) is Veeam’s way of recognizing and supporting those in the community passionate about data protection and sharing our knowledge. Being part of this program means access to Veeam resources, beta programs, and a direct line to the brilliant people behind the product. But most importantly, it means being part of a community that truly believes in elevating each other’s expertise.

Over the years, I’ve written extensively about this program, and I can honestly say it has improved my technical knowledge and the relationships I’ve built. Veeam100 brings together passionate, talented people worldwide, all dedicated to supporting, improving, and innovating within the Veeam ecosystem.

The Summit Experience: Connecting and Learning with Veeam

This summit is special because it brings us face-to-face with the R&D team, product owners, and other Veeam professionals who shape the Veeam we use daily. These sessions are about fostering innovation, from discussing upcoming features to giving feedback on what could be improved. Talking directly with the minds behind Veeam’s products—people dedicated to making Veeam the top data protection solution, is truly inspiring.

Of course, these gatherings are invaluable for networking. They’re a chance to hear what others in the community are working on, swap tips, and share ideas. When we come together at the Veeam100 Summit, we’re not just a group of enthusiasts; we’re part of something bigger, a movement dedicated to pushing the boundaries of what data protection can achieve.

Looking Forward: Goals and Excitement for the Coming Year

As we wrap up this year’s summit, I’m looking forward to a renewed commitment. I’m excited to get my homelab back up and running, so I can dive back into testing, exploring new versions, and sharing insights on Veeam and VMware. My goal is to make up for the lost time by creating more content and diving deeper into what makes Veeam the best choice for data protection.

Being part of the Veeam100 program has always been an honor. It’s been a journey filled with learning, growth, and community. Here’s to another year of connecting, learning, and pushing the boundaries with Veeam!

Conclusion: Why I’m Proud to be Part of Veeam100

As the summit wraps up, I’m left with an overwhelming sense of gratitude, grateful for the friendships, knowledge, and opportunities from being part of the Veeam100 community. Veeam isn’t just about data protection; it’s about fostering a community that believes in the power of sharing and collaboration.

I’m looking forward to another incredible year with Veeam, and I can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together!

As always, I’m excited to dive into the new features and updates we discussed during the summit. I’ll be creating a follow-up blog post to share what’s coming next for Veeam and the updates and improvements we can reveal publicly. Being part of Veeam100 means getting an exclusive first look at some of these advancements. While some details are under wraps until their official announcement, I look forward to sharing what I can to keep everyone in the loop on Veeam’s exciting direction.
